Being of service
There's a friend from the community, a sweet yogi who just underwent a horrific loss. She was almost in her nine month of pregnancy and she just lost her baby. Some of us who know her and her husband have been galvanized to rally behind them in this time of grief. Tara Judelle who is a lovely teacher here in LA, has organized a food run and some of us have been going to their house and bringing them food. Last Wednesday it was my turn, and it was truly such an honor to be there for someone else. Being of service has got to be the place where the heart resides. There is nowhere like it...
This sweet woman who is so incredibly strong, has asked us teachers at Still Yoga to do an offering and teach 10 sun salutes in honor of their beloved late daughter. So a bunch of us teachers at Still have been incorporating in our classes, until July 7th (the actual due date), 10 Surya Namaskars. I've been practicing them by myself too and there is something about offering your practice to someone else, to something else, to a cause greater that yourself. Pretty amazing.
Theme: Being of service.
Focus: Offering...
Reminding everyone that "Anjali Mudra" is the pose of offering and right at the beginning of our practice we can offer it to someone who is in need.
Also, did some poses where we focused on experiencing more Organic Energy, which is the energy of offering back out...
