Paul McCartney at the Hollywood Bowl
So we're entering Kapha season and during this time of transition the earth and water element in us can get out of balance. We can feel tired, congested, even depressed. However, if we eat the right foods, sleep well, incorporate twists, chest openers, inversions in our yoga, we will start to feel more balanced and centered. We will start to join in with Nature in this time of renewal, of rebirth, of springtime. We can use this time to clean our house, to connect with our deepest desires, to manifest our dreams and to quite honestly, have fun!
Speaking of fun and optimism I went to the best concert I've ever been in my life:
Paul McCartney at the Hollywood Bowl, March 30th, 2010.
The concert was sold out- over 18,000 of us where there from all ages.
Paul walked in with his band The Fireman and proceeded to rock for 2 and half hours (!) and played literally 40 songs.
I want to give a virtual shout out to my brother Jorge, thanking him for inviting me to the concert and compiling the song list for me.
I'll say that again- 40 songs! Here are out of said 40 songs, the songs he played from The Beatles:
All My Loving,
The Long and Winding Road
I'm Looking Through You
Two of Us
Blackbird (in which he spoke about how he came up with the opening part)
Eleanor Rigby
Something (sweetly dedicating it to George Harrison; started it with his ukulele and then moved into a more sublime expression)
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Paperback Writer
A Day in the LIfe (AMAZING! Paul also went into a John Lennon tribute, singing a song he wrote to him after he passed and singing Lennon's Give Peace a Chance)
Let it Be
Hey Jude (SO COOL!)
He also sang songs from his solo career, from Wings and his group The Fireman. He even did a Jimmi Hendrix song! One of my favorite moments was him rocking out Live and Let Die (fireworks were shooting each time he sang the chorus!)
First Encore:
Day Tripper
Lady Madonna
Get Back
Second Encore:
Yesterday,
Helter Skelter,
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band (reprise) culminating with the incredible The End
The concert ended with the last line of The End, which is the last line of the album Abbey Road, which is actually the last album The Beatles ever recorded (even though Let it Be was released later).
And the last line says it all:
"And in the end/
the love you take/
is equal to the love/
you make..."
Favorite moment of the night was when Paul said that he wanted to take this moment in ("I want to drink it in") and he literally stepped to the side and gazed all across the venue looking at us, taking us in for about a minute.
Gosh- I feel part of history, seeing a Beatle perform at the Hollywood Bowl!
Wow- may we all take care of ourselves and of our health so that we can enjoy all the gifts that life has to offer including, being with our loved ones and sharing good music.
Jai The Beatles!
Jai Paul!

Beautiful Maria! thanks for sharing! I'm a huge fan of the Beatles and love all their lyrics and music so much, it gave me a little glimpse into what was undoubtedly an unforgettable and priceless evening! I've missed your classes, but had an amazing time with Amy in Colorado! Wishing you a radiant and joyful day, much love always...

funny to see a set list instead of a sequence list
