Coming Home
Aloha!
After twelve days our vacation is over- we leave today back to Los Angeles.I think the trip will continue to reveal itself in the coming weeks and highlights and insights from it will come forth,
For sure the most brilliant comment I heard related to yoga came from Skeeter in the last class I took from her this Sunday. At one moment we were doing a pose, Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana, and we were holding it for awhile.
She then asked us how do we know when a pose is over? And then said- "when the light stops expanding."
"When the light stops expanding that's how you know a pose is over."
And I think that in that profound statement made in passing in class, Skeeter touched upon yoga philosophy, specifically Tantra, and how in this practice we are not just about effort but rather we are attuning to a bigger energy, moving with it, pulsating with it and there will come a moment when we can't sustain a balance between effort and surrender and at that moment the light stopped expanding and we humbly leave the pose...
Thank you Skeeter.
Thank you Maui (I will be back)
Thank you Red Sand Beach, Humpback Whales, Lavender Farm, thank you Haleakala Crater and clear night skies, the wind and always the beach.
Mahalo.
