Yoga and the beach

We've been going to yoga every day and trying different teachers, different styles. Yesterday we went back to the Yoga Studio in Haiku. We took an Iyengar yoga class with a lovely woman named Kay. If I was not an Anusara teacher I would for sure end up an Iyengar teacher. I love the amount of detail, the way a pose is broken down and build back up. It was quite delicious.

Today we drove to another studio, Maya Yoga located on the second mile towards Hana. That studio is owned by the well known and respected teachers Nicki Donne and Edie Modestini. They could not have been more welcoming and funner! Class was two hours and it was all intense stretches. Really interesting class, we went really deep into poses as we held them for several minutes at a time. We are planning to return tomorrow.

These two days have also been frolicsome days at the beach.  We've been going to Baldwin Park Beach. We have relaxed, taken sun and I made attempts at boogie boarding, which by the way mostly kicked my ass.

As I was in the ocean, waiting for a wave, I realized that I was living Anusara. I was in the ocean not trying to control or manipulate it or run away from it. I was in it. I was attuning to the waves, waiting for one and as soon as one arrived, I synched with it and rode with it. So simple yet that is our philosophy: we open to grace. We recognize that we are part of something bigger than us. We attune and align with this bigger energy and move with it.

Blessings!
