Therapeutics
I am in Berkeley studying Therapeutics with Sianna Sherman and Kenny Graham. There is a wonderful community of about 60 people in this workshop held at Yoga Kula. My friend Mackie and I drove from Los Angeles on Friday morning on a road trip adventure and so far we have had a phenomenal time. There are a bunch of fellow yogis from LA which makes the workshop even sweeter!
Mackie and I have been able to take classes at Yoga Kula before our session with Sianna and Kenny and we have been also reveling in the talented teachers from here.
And then there is Sianna and Kenny.
From the start of this 12 hour, two day workshop Sianna and Kenny reminded to us make an intention, sankalpa, to be of service, to others, which is the great boon of therapeutics yoga. To truly use Anusara's elegant and sophisticated five Universal Principles of Alignment and help others who are in pain. "Good therapeutics is good alignment," they reminded us. As "good alignment is also good therapeutics." In other words every time you align physically and spiritually to the best part of you, you are helping create for yourself radiant health.
They gave us helpful guidelines on what to look for when observing a client, from the foundation up. The first day we are focusing on the lower body and the second day, today, we will be focusing on the upper body.
There is too much information that has been given for me to do justice right now, and seeing that we have to go soon, it's best that I continue my posting later.
Suffice to say that Kenny and Sianna together are so sweet and helpful. They are so comfortable in their knowledge and take their seat of the teacher with great reverence to their teachers and to us.
Sianna in particular moves me greatly and I watch her with great reverence.
More later, I promise!
