Offerings

Have a few announcements for those in the LA area.

On December 1st, Tuesday, my dear friend Jessica Jennings is giving a talk geared towards yoga teachers on Pre-Natal Yoga. I have taken Jessica's Pre-Natal Training and found it so helpful in my yoga teaching. She reminded me of how important it is to create space for the baby and how the UPA (Universal Principles of Alignment) are critical at this time in a woman's life.
For any yoga teacher who wants to listen in on a gifted and eloquent Certified Anusara teacher who has led many pre-natal trainings, please come. I truly think every yoga teacher should come! It will be Dec. 1st from 7:00-8:30PM at Peter Cerrato's house on Silver Lake. Suggested donation is $20. All those interested email me and I will forward you the address. Not to be missed!

Also, my Restorative yoga teacher Jillian Pransky is coming from the East Coast to lead a two day Restorative Yoga Training. It will be December 10 and 11th. If you go to the Yoga Works website, click on Pacific Palisades and it will show you her flier with all the information. The number to call is (310) 664-6470/ x125. Jillian is a gifted teacher. I have taken her training twice. She was just featured in Yoga Journal of this month, were she created the loveliest and yummiest restorative yoga sequence. Her words, her wisdom as well as her presence are very healing. The mala beads that I always wear were a gift from her and I always have her close to my heart.

Lastly, Sianna Sherman and Paul Muller-Ortega are coming to Pasadena, to Mission Street Yoga on January for a weekend workshop. Please check Mission Street Yoga website for details. Sianna is my therapeutics yoga muse (I'm going to Berkeley for her Therapeutics training in a few weeks!) and the only teacher I've ever used the phrase "I worship her." Paul Muller-Ortega has become a truly beloved and revered teacher to many in the Anusara kula. I've not done his year long intensives but I've studied 5 times with him and am always inspired by his matrika.

I plan to do all these wonderful workshops. Maybe I'll see some of you there!

On another note-
Yesterday I took Tanya Bielke's class at her space, appropriately called "Sacred Space." I am always so blessed whenever I have the opportunity to study with her. Her classes, more than any other teacher in LA (in my opinion) are 100% Anusara. She truly embodies what an Anusara class should be: simple theme, clear alignment linked with the theme, great sequencing, inspiring demos, open heartedness. Whenever I teach after taking on of her classes, I feel so connected to my heart and to my theme.

Speaking of, I taught today at Still on the theme of "Oneness." I was very grounded and felt that the class was so cohesive. There were 20 people in the room, two of them new to yoga, and yet it felt like we were all moving as one. It helped also to have Carrie who's been assisting, to my great joy.
I've been noticing people's alignment more and more without thinking of the next pose that I'm going to do. There were several breakthroughs in class today as well as ample time to wind down from the back bends. So great!

Anusara Poster Project Pose: Parivrrta Parsvakonasana (I know! Still doing it! Thing is, I've loved teaching it all this week! What a great pose!)
