Thai Yoga Massage, etc.

I took my boyfriend last night to City Yoga, where we took Deon's Thai Yoga partner workshop.  We had such fun giving each other massages, and he was cracking me up because he was hurting me and I kept telling him "softer, damn it!" It's always so interesting when you are working with your partner! I find that I am not as sweet as usual. And that I lose my patience with him easily. Oh my goodness. I need to work on that.

I have been dabbling on Thai Massage for the last 7 years. I have taken the great Saul David Rae's three day intensive as well as worked on his manual and tried to incorporate some of it in class, plus I've gotten many Thai Massages. I find it so helpful for me as a yoga teacher. There were several adjustments we did last night, that I cannot wait to do to my students on our Restorative yoga on Thursdays at Still.

I start a new time slot next week at Black Dog, at 6PM on Mondays and Wednesdays and I am very excited to change things around. To teach at night, since the energy of people at night after work tends to be very devoted and hard core! I am excited to rev my teaching a little bit more. Turn up the volume.

Here's a sequence of a class I taught at Still this Thursday, and that I played a bit for Black Dog on Friday:

Surya Namaskar
Vrksasana
Parsvakonasana, Trikonasana
Virabhadrasana #1
Vasisthasana with tree leg
Galavasana prep
Pinca Mayurasana
Funky Pinca
Tadasana with baby backbend
Parsvottanasana
Parvrrta Trikonasana
Anjaneyasana
Eka Pada Rajakapotasana #2 variation
Hanumanasana
Tree with backbend (peak pose)
AMS
Uttanasana
Janu Sirsasana
Omega
Seated pose with Shambavi Mudra
Savasana

At Black Dog, I got requests for hip openers so we spent some time in Hanuman. We didn't do funky pinca. But we did end with several supine hip openers. Yummy.
Off to take a class! Love being able to take classes.
More later!
